What is salt?

Salt is produced in many different forms and shapes, depending on the acquisition and use. It may take the form of crystals, very small crystals, as a fine powder or hard-pressed tablets or blocks.

Salt is one of the most popular and well-known products in the kitchen. Edible salt known as NaCl, is the chemical compound of sodium Na and chlorine Cl. In the salt there are 2-3% of other substances, chlorine and sulphate. It is impossible to do without salt, or rather sodium. It is essential for proper nerve signal transmission and muscle function.
